  • Refresh rate: 144Hz;
  • Response time: 1ms;

  • Connectivity: 1 x DVI, 1 x DisplayPort, 2 x HDMI, 3.5mm audio jack;
  • Input lag: around 4ms;
  • Screen coating: Anti-glare/matte;

Strong points:

  • 1ms response time ensures fast and clear graphics rendering by making transitions between fast-mowing objects & scenes on-screen appear crisp & highly detailed without blurring effect of smearing or ghosting;
  • Image quality is razor-sharp and crystal-clear thanks to 2K (1440p) resolution & 109 ppi (pixels per inch) pixel density, providing superb level of clarity and detail on-screen;
  • AMD FreeSync technology ensures even more buttery-smooth and fluid gameplay experience by eliminating screen tearing & stuttering by synchronizing displays refresh rate with GPU’s produced framerate;
  • Wide FreeSync range (30 – 144Hz);

  • Pixio PX276 has a very professional-looking and angular design with futuristic accent to it. A beautiful combination of premium-looking and futuristic-sci-fi gaming monitor design. The frame and stand of the monitor is metal which is kinda surprising considering the budget-friendly price point. It also comes with ultra-thin profile and frame-less design which enhances viewing experience by making it more immersive and believable as well as making it perfect for great multi-display set-ups;
  • Build quality is good. Parts feel relatively well-made and the metal stand keeps monitor nice and steady, doesn’t allow monitor to wobble;
  • The monitor is easy to set up;
  • Low input lag of around 4ms makes gaming feel snappy and highly responsive;
  • Viewing angles are actually pretty solid here (170 degrees horizontal, 160 degrees vertical), they are much better compared to cheaper TN panels out there on the market. At more subtle angles picture quality remains surprisingly well. Usually cheap TN monitors have significant color shifting and distortion even at more subtle viewing angles, but PX726 delivers very good picture quality at those kinds of angles which is something to be really appreciated, Pixio Definitely used more impressive and high-end utilization of TN panel here. However, at more extreme angles there will be noticeable color shifting as expected;
  • Flicker-Free technology ensures comfortable viewing experience by significantly reducing the amount of screen flickering which can cause head aches and eye-strain;ย pixio px276
  • Low Blue Light technology further enhances users viewing comfort by filtering out harmful blue light which can cause head aches, eye-fatigue & other sight related issues that might occurs from long sessions in front of the monitor;
  • Advanced Gaming Features offer variety of unique pre-calibrated gaming pre-set modes for different gaming experiences, functions for different type of crosshairs to choose from, Timer, FPS counter and dynamic contrast;
  • OSD menu is user-friendly & comfortable to navigate through;
  • Great variety of different connectivity options available;
  • Affordable;
  • VESA compatible;

Neutral points:

  • Color performance is somewhat solid, especially considering it is using TN panel, but it uses rather High End implementation of TN panel. Color are much more vivid & dense as well as more accurate & consistent compared to cheaper TN panel implementations out there on the market.

Negative points:

  • Lack of height, swivel & pivot adjustable stand, users only have option for slight tilting of the monitor;
  • Color performance out of the box isn’t particularly good, it requires some tweaking and calibration in order to achieve good color reproduction (thankfully users share their settings online so check those out);

Conclusion:

All in all, Pixio PX276 is easily one of the best 1440p gaming monitors in this price point. It is very impressive how Pixio managed to squeeze so much into this monitor without any significant cuts and still keep it at low price tag. PX276 truly delivers a spectacular gaming performance with its high refresh rate, FreeSync technology, low response time as well as low input lag, gaming centered features, visually appealing design with good build quality and more. The only major downside of PX726 is lack of height, swivel & pivot adjustable stand, however Pixio has fully adjustable VESA stand separately for sale so if You are interested in it, please click here to find the latest price on Amazon. Pixio PX276 offers an insane amount for the price it targets.

  1. That’s actually a pretty decent price for a high quality monitor.  I purchase all of the monitors at my law firm, so I’m familiar with price points on basic monitors.

    Do you recommend sticking with 27″ for gaming and is that an average size?  Or would you suggest getting a larger one, say 37″ if it’s in your budget?

    1. Hey Nicki ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Thank You for taking Your time to read and comment on my review, I appreciate it!

      As far as choosing the right screen size for gaming, right of the bat I have to tell You that it is dependant on Your personal prefference. For me personally, the image quality (to be exact- resolution and pixel density) play the biggest factor in choosing the right screen size. Let’s take Full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolution for example- in my opinion, the best screen size for Full HD resolution is 24”. 1080p looks sharp and clean on 24” screen because of high enough pixel density. Lets take the same resolution and put in on 32” screen for example. You will notice that the same Full HD resolution will look pretty rough and pixelated when sitting near the screen. Tha’s because of low pixel density. On a 24” withย 1090 x 1080p resolution You get about 92 pixels per inch. On a 32” screen You would get about 69 ppi, which is significantly lower and that’s what causes image quality to look pixelated. I would recommend going with 2K (2560 x 1440p) resolution for 27” screens and higher or 4k (3840 x 2160p) for 32” screens or higher for the best image quality.ย I hope this answers the question ๐Ÿ˜‰ย

  2. I must confess I am not knowledgeable about gaming monitors and found your post very interesting, the question I need to ask is could you use a television as a gaming monitor or are gaming monitors specifically designed for games. Can you watch TV programs on a gaming monitor as well?
