  1. OK, I have to challenge you here…you mentioned that there are some monitors that have good built in speakers. Can you give me an make/models? Every one I have every listened to sounds like crap! 🙂 I always figure part of my monitor budget is going to go towards a sound bar and new set of headphones.

For the price, it sure seems like the Acer R240HY is the winner here. Do you have a personal preference? Are you by chance using any of these currently?

Anyway, great review…I’ve been looking for a new 24″ and you did the leg work for me!

    Cheers!

    1. Hey 😉 thank You for taking Your time to read my reviews & comment 😉 I truly appreciate it!

Here are some models that have overall pretty good built-in speaker quality: Acer XR382CQK; AOC AGON AG251FZ; ASUS ROG SWIFT PG27A.

I do own BenQ ZOWIE RL2455 & I am very impressed by it 🙂 gaming on it feels super responsive, snappy & ghosting-free. Ofcourse this is TN panel & color reproduction is not on par with VA & IPS panels however they still manage to look very nice (high quality implementation of TN panel). If You are looking for gorgeous & stunning colors then IPS panels & VA panels are way to go. Asus VZ27VQ uses VA panel which has better color reproduction than TN, however worse than IPS but VZ27VQ does offer that amazing curvature effect which will leave users with more immersive feeling. ASUS VC239HAcer R240HY strongest point is of course that IPS panel & it’s superb color performance. All work great with console gaming 🙂 VZ27VQ, VC239HR240HY still offer that low response time so ghosting won’t be a  problem as well 🙂

I hppe this was helpful, if You have any questions feel free to message me 😉

      Cheers,

      Evald

  2. Which one of this monitor would you recommend for best competitive gaming arena? The one that will just bring the most important asset I think about how many frames per second will it handle. Or maybe the most compatible between the two consoles systems. I remember back in the day playing super smash brothers in high school good times for sure.

    1. Hey Erick 😉 Thank You for taking Your time to read my reviews & comment! 😉 I appreciate it!

The best console competitive gaming monitor out of this list would be BenQ Zowie RL2455 because of its ultra-low input lag & 1ms response time 🙂 Gaming on it feels very snappy & super responsive! 🙂 The lowest latency possible is crucial for competitive, fast-paced games. However, the RL2455 can’t compete with other monitors on this list in terms of color reproduction & over all visual fidelity.

All of theses monitors in this list have the refresh rate of 60Hz, meaning they are capable of displaying maximum of 60FPS which is just a sweet spot for console gaming, as console games run either at 30FPS or 60FPS 🙂 So You don’t need more for console gaming 🙂

As far as compatibility goes, all of these monitors are equally compatible with both, Xbox one & PS4 🙂 Consoles connect to the monitor via HDMI connection 🙂

      Hope this was helpful 😉

      Cheers,

      Evald

  3. I am gna be the first one to say this, the BENQ looks really crap visually, but I am sure it is powerfully reliable. The ACER and ASUS screens look the best. Is there a way to make the 60hz higher at all? Some newer monitors are pushing 100hz. Does that really matter?

    1. Hey 😉

Thank You for taking Your time to read my reviews and comment 😉 I appreciate it!

BenQ RL2455 may not have the prettiest design, but its performance is top notch! Low input lag, 1 ms response time alongside some useful gaming orientated features, RL2455 delivers truly great and responsive gaming experience.

In the beginning of my article I’ve stated:

”On a base PS4 & Xbox One games run at maximum resolution of native 1920 x 1080p (Full HD) & maximum of 60 FPS (frames per second). This is the reason why we are not reviewing monitors on this list that go beyond 1080p & 60Hz refresh rate because console gamers would simply end up overpaying for the features & specs that they will not be able to use & benefit from;” 😉

Obviously there are a lot of gaming monitors that have higher refresh rate than 60Hz but they are centred around pc gaming because on PC there is option to uncap framerate and get highest framerates possible by Your GPU.

Feel free to message me anytime if You have any questions 😉

      Cheers,

      Evald
